Gender-Based Violence in Colombia: New Legislation Targets Femicides and Acid Attacks

Violence against women is a worldwide epidemic. News reports from across the globe recount, sometimes in horrifying detail, the day-to-day war that is waged against women and girls for the mere fact that they were born female. Using Colombia as an example, this Comment evaluates theLatin American trend to confront this rampant gender-based violence with legislation.
