This Note discusses and analyzes the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal's decision in St. Tammany Par. Gov’t v. Welsh, 2015-1152 (La. App. 1 Cir. 3/9/16); 199 So. 3d 3, writ denied, 2016-0657 (La. 6/17/16); 194 So. 3d 1108, and writ denied, 2016-0650 (La. 6/17/16); 194 So. 3d 1109. The First Circuit held that state law preempted St. Tammany Parish zoning ordinances to the extent they impacted the State's regulation of oil and gas activity.
