In this Case Note, Jacqueline Odom explores how United States v. Prado, 933 F.3d 121 (2d Cir. 2019), deepens a circuit split regarding statutory interpretation of the MDLEA and argues that the Second Circuit disregarded congressional intent in assessing whether the phrase “a vessel subject to the jurisdiction of the United States” implicates federal subject matter jurisdiction.
