This Comment sheds light on widely overlooked supply security and environmental sustainability concerns that currently threaten the lithium-ion battery industry.28 It also proposes policy initiatives that, after implementation by both the United States and other countries around the world, achieve the supply security and sustainability necessary for an electric future.
