Caitlin Phillips
Caitlin Phillips is the Editor-in-Chief of Volume 100. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Public Health (Policy & Administration) from the University of Southern Mississippi. Following her first year of law school, Caitlin was an intern to the Hon. Eldon E. Fallon at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and a summer associate at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in Birmingham. This past summer, Caitlin was a summer associate at Baker Donelson in New Orleans and Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in Dallas. After graduation, she will clerk for the Hon. Wendy B. Vitter at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Nicole Alvarez Roca
Nicole Alvarez Roca serves as the Senior Managing Editor for Volume 100. She is from Spanish Fort, Alabama and graduated from Tulane University with a B.S.M. in Business Legal Studies with a minor in Political Science. During her 1L summer, Nicole worked as an extern for Judge Wendy B. Vitter at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and as a summer law clerk for the Federalism Division of the Louisiana Office of the Attorney General. This past summer, Nicole was a Summer Associate at Baker, Donelson and at Fishman Haygood LLP both in New Orleans. After graduation, Nicole will clerk for Tulane Law Review alumnus Judge Barry Ashe at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana followed by a clerkship with Judge Stuart Kyle Duncan on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
John Berner
John Berner serves as the Senior Articles Editor for Volume 100. He is from Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Tulane University with a B.A. in 2018 and then an M.A. in English in 2019. This past summer, John was a summer associate at Jones Day in Cleveland. Following his first year of law school, John interned with the Hon. Meredith Grabill in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and worked as a summer associate at Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard. Upon graduation, he will clerk for the Hon. Susie Morgan at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. John's Comment "Library Book Removals and Government Speech: A Proportionate Approach to the Circuit Split" will be published in Volume 100 of the Tulane Law Review.
Taylor Campbell
Taylor is the Senior Notes and Comments Editor for Volume 100. She is from Altoona, Pennsylvania and graduated from Webb Institute with a B.S. in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture. Before law school, Taylor was a systems engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat. During her 1L summer, Taylor clerked at the Orleans Public Defenders. Last summer, Taylor was a Summer Associate at Freehill Hogan & Mahar LLP in New York. After graduation, Taylor will clerk for the Hon. Wendy Vitter at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in New Orleans.
Michelle Zeng
Michelle serves as the Diversity & Managing Editor for Volume 100. She is from Greenville, Mississippi and graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations. Before law school, Michelle worked in management consulting and human resources for multiple global Fortune 500 companies. During her 1L summer, Michelle interned in the chambers of the Honorable Debra Brown for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi and in Jackson, Mississippi with Balch and Bingham. She externed for the Southeast Louisiana Legal Services during her 2L spring semester. This past summer, Michelle interned at Ogletree Deakins in Atlanta, Georgia as a Labor and Employment Summer Associate and will be returning to Ogletree after graduation. Her Comment, "'Major Questions' Around Reproductive Rights at Work: Analyzing the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act Under the Major Questions Doctrine," will be in Volume 100 of Tulane Law Review, and explores how the major questions doctrine's ambiguity creates inconsistent interpretations of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and could narrow workplace protections around reproductive rights.
Emma Luke
Emma Luke serves as Volume 100's Senior Associate Editor. She is from Lafayette, Louisiana and received her bachelor's degree in mass communications with a focus in public relations from Louisiana State University. She also obtained minors in business and sociology. Last summer, Emma externed for Judge Laurie A. Hulin of the 15th Judicial Circuit of Louisiana. This past summer, she worked as a summer associate for Dickinson Wright in Austin, Texas. As SASE, Emma is most excited to plan fun events and promote Volume 100 through this huge milestone!
